Cohere launches North 2 with token spending controls
Cohere has unveiled North 2, a major update to its enterprise AI agent platform. The release introduces a rebuilt orchestration system that handles multistep tasks autonomously and pulls in humans for steps requiring approval. New spending controls in North Admin let administrators track token use per user and agent, set consumption tiers, and cap usage company-wide. Agents can now be shared across organizations, retain memory between sessions, and call on reusable skills. North 2 also adds connectors for Slack, GitHub, SharePoint and OneDrive, and remains model-agnostic. The update follows Cohere's recently announced merger with German AI developer Aleph Alpha.
