Clio Hits $500M ARR as Legal AI Heats Up
Canadian legal tech firm Clio has reached $500 million in annual recurring revenue, accelerating rapidly after integrating AI in 2023. The company, valued at $5 billion following a $500 million Series G raise last November, argues legal tech is the next major frontier for large language models, citing law's vast repositories of contracts and documents as ideal AI training material.
The legal AI space is growing crowded and competitive. Rivals Harvey and Legora hit $190 million and $100 million in ARR respectively, while Anthropic this week expanded its Claude for Legal platform, directly challenging the startups that rely on it as a core model.
