Cline Bot champions open AI coding harness access
Cline Bot Inc. is expanding its open-source AI coding harness beyond software development into general knowledge work, allowing users to select faster, cheaper inference models when frontier models are unnecessary. CEO Renee Huang says the company has spent two years building an evaluation system tuned for both large and small open-weight models. Token consumption has grown 20x over four months, with much of that inference running on CoreWeave's serverless platform. Cline Desktop, a new open-source app, targets less technical users. Huang argues open weights make custom tooling viable for long-tail projects that cannot justify large software budgets or engineering teams.
