Claude Sonnet 5.5: Faster, Cheaper, Stronger Coding

Anthropic has launched Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the Claude 5.5 family. It runs over 30% faster and costs up to 30% less per task than Sonnet 5, while priced identically at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Sonnet 5.5 scores 70.6% on Terminal-Bench 4.0 compared to Sonnet 5's 10.3%, and is the first Sonnet model to beat Pokémon Red using only screenshots. Designed for everyday tasks, bug fixing, and document creation, it also introduces cybersecurity safeguards previously reserved for Anthropic's most capable models.
