Claude Opus 5.5: Faster, Cheaper, Safer AI

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in its new 5.5 family. It matches Claude Fable 5.1 performance on most tasks, costs 40% less than Opus 5, and generates output over 30% faster. It also scores highest of any model on Anthropic's automated behavioral alignment tests. Early testers reported major real-world gains, including a 680,000-line code migration completed in under a day. The model features stronger prompt injection resistance, improved natural communication, and expanded safety safeguards. Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 are expected in the coming weeks.
