Claude Now Powers Apple Foundation Models Framework

Anthropic is releasing a Swift package that integrates Claude into Apple's Foundation Models framework, letting developers combine on-device Apple models with Claude for more demanding tasks. The package supports iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27. Developers can use Apple's on-device models for lightweight tasks like summarization, then hand off to Claude for complex reasoning, code generation, or web search. The framework's typed Swift outputs feed cleanly into Claude API calls, with the package handling streaming, tool calls, and structured responses directly into SwiftUI views.
