Claude Merges Chat and Cowork Into One

Anthropic is merging Claude Cowork and Claude chat into a single unified experience, rolling out to Pro and Max plan users over the coming weeks. The update eliminates the need to choose between platforms, letting Claude handle both quick questions and complex long-running tasks from any conversation. Three new tools launch alongside the merger: Claude Docs, Claude Slides, and an integrated Claude Design. Users can create, edit, and download documents and presentations directly within conversations. All three are in beta on paid plans, with Team and Free plans to follow.
