Claude Haiku 5.5: Fastest, Cheapest Small Model Yet

Anthropic has launched Claude Haiku 5.5, its fastest and most affordable small model to date. It costs around 75% less than Haiku 4.5 and is built for high-volume tasks like summaries, classification, and customer support. It includes an adjustable effort setting and strong benchmark results, including 72.4% on OSWorld 2.1. Asana reported over 30% latency reduction and up to 2.5x faster inference per agent turn in testing. Anthropic is also halving Sonnet 5.5 cache read prices and adding monthly API credits for Max and Team subscribers. Haiku 5.5 is available now across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
