Claude for Teachers Expands Free Access to Schools
Anthropic has launched Claude for Teachers as a free Enterprise offering for U.S. K-12 schools and districts. Administrators can now centrally manage educator accounts with features like single sign-on, role-based access controls, and FERPA-aligned data privacy agreements. Student data is not used for model training. New back-to-school additions include two teaching skills co-developed with Learning Commons: Lesson Preparation and Check for Understanding. Anthropic is also piloting a program in Detroit Public Schools to study the impact on educator wellbeing. Qualifying organizations can sign up by June 30, 2027, for a full year of free access.
