Claude Code Gets Customizable Mods Feature
Anthropic has introduced mods for Claude Code, small TypeScript functions that let developers customize how the tool works. A mod can rewrite prompts, block or modify tool calls, redraw parts of the interface, add buttons, or replace built-in features. Mods ship inside plugins and can target the CLI, desktop app, or both. Multiple mods stack in load order. Some built-in features, like the /diff command, now ship as mods themselves. For teams and enterprises, a security mod called sec-default loads first to prevent risky overrides. Mods are available today in the Claude Code CLI and desktop app.
Great new feature! I made a fleet mod that tracks Claude Code activity across my MacBook, Mac Mini, and cloud environments.
