ChatGPT Gets App-Like Plug-In Extensions at DevDay

OpenAI announced at its DevDay event that developers can now build app-like experiences within ChatGPT using plug-in extensions. These give apps a dedicated sidebar home and support interactive panels, file viewers, and custom file formats. A new Plugin Creator tool and redesigned submission flow aim to simplify development, while improved ranking and discovery help users find plug-ins. ChatGPT Sites can also host these plug-ins for sharing with colleagues. OpenAI is additionally adding support for the MCP Events specification, enabling automations triggered by events in connected apps.
