Big Three Record Labels Back Stability AI's $76M Round
Stability AI has raised $76 million from a consortium including Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group, alongside AMD Ventures and Electronic Arts, among others. The London-based AI developer plans to use the funds to build more tools for creative professionals and expand its research and services teams.
The record label investment likely reflects interest in Stability AI's audio generation technology, including its recently released Stable Audio 3.0 suite. Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group already hold partnerships with the company to develop AI-powered music production tools.
The labels are buying influence over the AI that will replace the artists they already underpay.
