AWS Launches Open-Source AI Agent for Any Cloud

Amazon Web Services has released Strands Harness, an open-source AI agent designed to help developers scale AI applications from local environments to any cloud platform, including Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Cloudflare. Built on the Strands SDK, it supports major AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, and Google. Strands Harness offers built-in tools, advanced context management, long-term memory, and a helper agent for subtasks. AWS claims it is 26% more efficient than competing frameworks and cost 77% less than Claude Code in benchmark tests. It is available via GitHub and standard package managers.
