Amazon Web Services has launched a purpose-built log analytics engine for Amazon OpenSearch Service, cutting data storage costs by around 70% and doubling ingestion throughput. Organizations can now run analytical queries twice as fast without changing their hardware configurations, addressing surging log volumes driven by AI workloads. The engine introduces columnar Apache Parquet storage, intelligent query routing via Apache Calcite, and unified SQL and Piped Processing Language support. Available today across all supported AWS regions, it is accessible by selecting observability mode at domain creation, with no additional pricing beyond standard instance and storage charges.
