AWS CloudWatch Omni Tackles Agentic AI Accountability
Amazon Web Services launched Amazon CloudWatch Omni, a next-generation observability platform designed to answer a question traditional monitoring cannot: why did an AI agent behave that way? Built on OpenTelemetry and running outside the AWS Management Console, it captures agent traces, application telemetry, and infrastructure signals in a unified data layer, with 17 built-in evaluators scoring coherence, helpfulness, and routing accuracy. The platform targets enterprises struggling to govern hundreds of AI agents built by different teams. Early adopters include Sony and Capital One, which helped shape the product as a design partner. Developers get native IDE integration, operators get a standalone web experience, and both share the same underlying data, reducing the cross-team coordination currently required to diagnose agentic failures.
