Automate Retail Replenishment With AI and AWS

Retail replenishment automation faces a persistent bottleneck: forecasts and order placement live in separate systems, causing stockouts before planners can act. This technical walkthrough builds a four-stage loop using Databricks Many Model Forecasting, Databricks Genie Agent, and Amazon QuickSight to detect demand surges, match them to suppliers, and place orders automatically. The system uses Chronos-2 to forecast 7-day SKU demand, identifies surges exceeding 1.5 times the prior 14-day average, reconciles against live supplier availability in Amazon S3 Tables, and places purchase orders or escalates to human review when no supplier can cover demand. Amazon Quick connects both platforms via Model Context Protocol.
