Anthropic's AI agent now closes sales deals autonomously

Anthropic built a buying agent on Claude Managed Agents to fix a broken inbound sales process that left prospects waiting days for answers. The agent, deployed on Contact Sales and Pricing pages and inside the product, handles thousands of conversations daily, answering questions on pricing, security, and contracts before recommending a plan and guiding buyers to checkout. Escalated leads convert to opportunities more than twice as often as before and close about five days faster. One engineer built the initial version in weeks, with sales and content teams editing the system prompt directly in the Console.
