Anthropic Signs $45B Compute Deal With Nscale
Anthropic has agreed to rent $45 billion in AI compute from Nscale, a British infrastructure company founded in 2024. The six-year deal will supply Anthropic with Nvidia's cutting-edge Vera Rubin chips from a West Virginia data center, with capacity expected online by late 2027.
This is the latest in a rapid series of compute partnerships for Anthropic. Recent deals include $10 billion with cloud startup Volta, $5 billion with AMD, a major SpaceX arrangement, and expanded partnerships with Amazon, Google, and Broadcom — all aimed at keeping pace with rivals like OpenAI.
