Anthropic Opens Singapore Office, Signs Government MOU

Anthropic has opened a Singapore office and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore Ministry of Digital Development and Information, covering AI safety, security, model evaluation, and responsible adoption. Singapore ranks second of 121 countries in Claude.ai usage relative to population. Major local users include GovTech Singapore, where over 1,500 engineers use Claude Code, DBS bank, sovereign wealth fund GIC, Grab, and Sea. The MOU also outlines plans for technical exchanges with Singapore's AI safety institutions, support for small businesses, and AI skills development for public officers.
