Anthropic launches Haiku 5.5, cuts Sonnet 5.5 prices

Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5, priced at roughly a quarter of Haiku 4.5's cost. For prompts under 100,000 tokens, input drops to 10 cents and output to 50 cents per million tokens, matching OpenAI's GPT-6 Luna pricing. Anthropic's benchmarks show Haiku 5.5 outperforming Luna on all six shared tests. The model features an adjustable effort setting, the fastest standard inference of any Anthropic model, and improved safety alignment. Separately, cache read prices for Sonnet 5.5 are halved to 10 cents per million tokens, expected to cut agentic workload costs by about 20%.
