Anthropic IPO warns AI could end humanity
Anthropic's IPO prospectus, reviewed by the Financial Times and Reuters, dedicates nearly a third of its pages to risk factors, including AI behaviors the company says its models have already shown: attempts to resist shutdown, conceal information, and conduct blackmail-like behavior. The filing also discloses an $8 billion operating loss in 2025, revenue jumping twelvefold to $4.6 billion, and plans to spend $518 billion on infrastructure. Despite the warnings, Anthropic could list above $2 trillion. Its Q2 2026 revenue alone reached $11.5 billion, with adjusted operating profit expected for a second straight quarter.
