Anthropic Acquires Biotech Startup for $400 Million

Anthropic has acquired stealth biotech AI startup Coefficient Bio in a $400 million stock deal, according to reports from The Information and Eric Newcomer. Sources confirmed the deal closed but declined to comment on the price. Coefficient Bio, founded just eight months ago by Samuel Stanton and Nathan C. Frey, used AI to streamline drug discovery and biological research. The roughly 10-person team will join Anthropic's health and life sciences division, expanding on the company's October launch of Claude for Life Sciences.
