Android 17 Launches With AI, Multitasking Upgrades
Google has released Android 17 and Wear OS 7, debuting first on Pixel devices alongside a Pixel Drop update. New AI features include Gemini Omni video editing, Lyria 3 music generation, and AudioLM speech-to-translation on the Pixel 10a, reflecting Google's strategy of showcasing its latest AI through its own hardware.
Beyond AI, Android 17 introduces a bubble bar for faster multitasking, simultaneous selfie and screen recording, improved parental controls, and a foldable gaming mode. Wear OS 7 adds emergency detection on Pixel Watch, live app mirroring, expanded Gemini features, and up to 10% better battery life.
