AMD Bets Big on Edge AI Embedded Chips
Edge AI is quietly reshaping infrastructure, with global edge computing investment projected to surge from $232 billion in 2024 to $350 billion by 2027. AMD corporate VP Steven Fong says industries like automotive, industrial automation, and healthcare are driving rapid adoption due to demands for real-time processing and low latency.
AMD is positioning its x86 embedded portfolio, including EPYC Embedded and Ryzen Embedded lines, to meet these needs. The latest Ryzen Embedded P100 and X100 series integrate Zen 5 CPU, RDNA 3.5 GPU, and XDNA 2 NPU on a single chip, targeting edge deployments requiring performance, flexibility, and long operational reliability.
