Amazon, Microsoft Back Billion-Dollar AI Worker Nonprofit

Amazon, Microsoft, Anthropic, and the OpenAI Foundation are anchor partners in RAISE US, a new nonpartisan nonprofit launching Thursday to help American workers navigate the AI-driven economy. Led by former U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo as CEO, the organization aims to raise $1 billion in multi-year commitments, with over half already secured. RAISE US plans to partner with governors, employers, and training organizations to retrain workers displaced by AI. Initial state partnerships include Arkansas, Connecticut, Maryland, and Utah. The launch comes amid widespread anxiety over AI's impact on jobs and ongoing layoffs across the tech industry.
