Amazon launches AI wearables that listen and shop
Amazon debuted two new Bee AI wearable devices: Frontier, a wristband priced at $75, and Eclipse, a $100 magnetic smartphone snap-on. Both listen to conversations, summarize discussions, surface personalized insights, and integrate with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Alexa+. They also connect to Amazon.com to generate shopping recommendations based on overheard conversations. A subscription costs around $12 per month. Privacy advocates raised concerns about bystander consent and data risks, noting that even with device-controlled encryption and audio deletion, personal data is still uploaded to Amazon's servers.
Connecting Bee to Amazon lets items mentioned in conversation show up on your Amazon home page.
