Amazon in $7B talks to acquire AI startup Decart

Amazon is reportedly in talks to acquire AI startup Decart.ai in a deal worth up to $7 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal. Decart, founded in 2023 by Israeli engineers, developed DOS software that compresses AI model optimization from months to weeks, enabling workloads to shift across different processors. The startup last raised $300 million at a $4 billion valuation in May. Anthropic previously explored a $6 billion acquisition but withdrew after due diligence. Decart's technology could benefit Amazon Web Services, which offers its own Trainium3 AI chips.
