Amazon Bedrock Cuts AI Costs 90% With Prompt Caching
Amazon Bedrock's prompt caching feature reduces input token costs by up to 90 percent by storing snapshots of frequently used context, such as system prompts, documents, and tool definitions. Instead of reprocessing the same content repeatedly, the model reads from cache on subsequent requests, also lowering time-to-first-token.
The feature supports six practical use cases, from basic document caching to multi-tenant isolation and LangChain integration, all using a unified Converse API syntax. Cache entries are account-scoped, require minimum token thresholds, and expire based on configurable TTL windows ranging from 5 minutes to 1 hour.
