OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has confirmed the company will not go public in 2026, calling such a move ill-advised. The statement came during a wide-ranging Fortune interview. Altman also addressed the possibility of AI surpassing human control, calling it absolutely possible but pledging to prevent it, even if that means pausing AI training.
