Akamai Buys Browser Security Firm LayerX for $205M

Akamai has agreed to acquire LayerX, a browser-based AI usage control and secure enterprise browser technology provider, for $205 million. The deal expands Akamai's security reach into the browser environment. LayerX's solutions will protect enterprise users engaging with generative AI apps, SaaS AI tools, and AI agents.
