AI Startup Wants to Design Chips in Weeks
Ricursive Intelligence, founded by Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini, is building AI that designs chips, learns from each design, and improves the next one. The startup aims to cut chip development from two to three years down to weeks, creating a self-reinforcing loop where AI builds better hardware that enables more powerful AI.
The founders previously led AlphaChip at Google, which helped design multiple generations of Tensor Processing Units. Launched in late 2025, Ricursive raised $335 million at a $4 billion valuation within four months, with Nvidia among its investors. Goldie and Mirhoseini will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, October 13-15 in San Francisco.
