AI Startup Generates Permit-Ready Blueprints in Minutes
Blueprints AI, founded by architect Al Dram and data scientist Coco Cao, uses AI to produce code-compliant, permit-ready architectural blueprints from a 2D sketch or PDF in minutes. Incorporated in 2025 in Santa Monica, the startup trained its models on eight years of approved drawing sets from Dram's own design firm. Its first-generation software costs $3,200 to $8,500 per month. A second-generation version, launching publicly this week at TechCrunch Disrupt, generates blueprints covering architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and interior design simultaneously, with changes automatically checked against local building codes. Licensed architects still review and seal all documents.
