AI Forces CISOs Into Enterprise Risk Decisions

AI is reshaping the CISO role, pushing security leaders beyond blocking attacks into facilitating enterprise-wide risk decisions involving legal, compliance, engineering and business teams. Analysts at theCUBE Research describe CISOs as connective tissue enabling business strategy rather than obstructing it. However, a stark divide exists among security leaders. Only 20% of CISOs have developed coherent AI strategies, while the remaining 80% remain unprepared. Experts warn that CISOs who obstruct AI adoption risk losing their positions, and must instead present executives with clear options to accept, mitigate or transfer risk.
